User account control on Vista and Win7

Dec 2, 2010 at 4:19 PM

Hi,

On Windows 7 and Vista with active UAC, my install.exe will fail, if it manifest defined as (requestedPrivileges=requireAdministrator).

Is there any solution.

Thanks in advance.

So the process requires elevation, but can't auto-elevate. I think the only way is to change the UAC settings not to prompt, ever. I think http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa511445.aspx#elevationgl describes how to do that. Give it a try, tell us what you find.

It worked;) thank you.

I set the UAC to never prompt and (very important) I set the ui0session service to autostart then restarted the guest.

Every thing went as expected.( tested on guest: Win7 Ultimate 32 DE )
